What we collect

Three things, and nothing else:

• Your email address, which you give at checkout so we can send you the link to your report. It is the only personal detail we ask for.
• The property addresses you look up, along with the resolved address and coordinates, so a report can be generated and reopened later.
• Purchase and report records: what was bought, what it cost, which reports were generated, and how many credits remain.

We do not ask for your name, your phone number, your postal address or your date of birth, and there is no account to fill in. There is no advertising network on this site, no third-party analytics script and no social media pixel.

What we do not claim

We are not going to tell you that HouseKnow stores no personal data. It stores your email address and the addresses you searched for, and an email address is personal data. What we can tell you is that the list is short, that it is what the product genuinely needs to work, and that we do not sell or share it.

Payment information

HouseKnow does not collect, see or store card details.

Your report link

Report and access links are long random tokens. Treat them like a password: anyone with the link can read the report. We store only a one-way hash of each token, so a copy of our database does not give anyone access to your reports.

Report pages are marked so that search engines do not index them, and they are never listed in our sitemap.

Email

We email you when a report is ready, and again if you ask us to resend your access link. We do not send marketing email, and there is no mailing list to be added to.

Logs

The server keeps operational logs so we can find and fix faults. Email addresses are masked in them before they are written, and access tokens are never written to a log in production.

Data we fetch about a property

To build a report we send the property\'s coordinates or county to federal data services. Those requests contain the location being checked. They never contain your email address or anything else about you.

Deleting your data

Email our support form from the address you bought with and ask us to delete your records. We will remove your email address, your reports and your purchase history. Once deleted, report links stop working and remaining credits are lost, so ask only if you are sure.
